A little bit about us, and our Mystery Gift Boxes…

TheMysteryGiftBox.com was founded in 2018 by Ryan and Ellie. Ellie had bought her dad a mystery gift box for his birthday and absolutely loved the concept of not knowing what was inside the box! Ryan was working in a job he didn’t enjoy, so what started as a bit of fun selling on eBay and Amazon, led to us creating our own website.

We’d never even heard of mystery gift boxes before we bought one for Ellie’s dad, and we bought it from a legitimate company so we had no worries. This was just before the popularity of mystery boxes went crazy.

Placing and receiving our first stock order was so exciting! We’d bought such small quantities; 12 of one product line, 6 of another, 3 of another and so on, as that’s all we could afford. We listed our mystery boxes on eBay and Amazon and were amazed to make some sales almost immediately. We were selling up to 10 mystery gift boxes a day at one point. But then both platforms banned the sale of mystery boxes due to there being too many unscrupulous sellers. We’d received so much positive feedback about our boxes we didn’t want to give up so we decided to take the plunge and we created our own website. We accidentally pressed the ‘launch’ button on the website before it was ready, so there was no champagne moment, but it didn’t matter that the website was only half made when it went live as it took about a month before we made our first sale!

We want everyone who receives a mystery gift box to be thrilled and delighted! It’s such a fun experience opening a gift and having no idea what’s inside! Our mystery gift boxes have evolved and got better and better the longer we’ve been around. We’ve worked extremely hard to become known as a legitimate gifting company and to shake off any negative connotations associated with the unscrupulous sellers of mystery boxes.

The gifts we put in our boxes are good quality, fairly priced, and nicely packaged. We’ve gradually built up a portfolio of regular suppliers largely made up of other small, family run businesses that are passionate about their products.

The MysteryGiftBox.com is entirely family run. It is based in Milton Keynes, and for those who don’t know, Milton Keynes is a city famous for its concrete cows (below) and roundabouts!
