What will be in the box?
Unsurprisingly, as a Mystery Gift Box company, we are asked this a lot!
We source products from many different companies, many of which are also family run and are passionate about their products.
Our aim is to introduce you to new brands and support smaller businesses that pay fair prices for ingredients/materials, and many of which produce their products locally.
Our £25 boxes usually contain 5 items, and our £100 boxes usually contain approximately 12 items.
So, building on this, the more expensive the box that your order, the more items that you will receive. Also, in more expensive boxes, there will be items with a higher RRP!
We only put items in our mystery gift boxes that are inoffensive and appeal to the majority of people. If there is an item in the box the recipient isn’t too keen on, the idea is could be re-gifted.
I have bought a box from you before, will I receive different items in my next box?
Definitely! We keep a record of each and every item sent out in our boxes, so each and every time you buy from us, we will send you different items! In the very unlikely instance that we are unable to fulfil your order, we will contact you by email to offer you alternatives, or a full refund.
I do not wish to receive a certain type of item in my box, what can I do?
On the product page of your chosen box there is a section where you can add notes about your order. There is also another notes section in the checkout, where you are welcome to request that certain items are excluded.
For example, you may not want a mug in your box, or you may not have a bath, so don’t want bath products. Some of our customers leave us very detailed lists or what they do and don’t want and we always welcome this as we really do aim for 100% customer satisfaction!
If you forget to leave us a note, simply email us at Help@TheMysteryGiftBox.com immediately after your purchase, and we will exclude any items that you request. Please try and send the email within 30 minutes of placing your order.
Can I request specific items for my box?
If you have seen a product that you like the look of in a recent post on our social media, for example, you can make a request for this in the notes section of the product and/or the checkout. Please note we cannot guarantee that we can put the item in the box as it depends on whether we still have the item in stock, and also sometimes the value of the box ordered.
For example, we could not put a Gourmet Chocolate pizza that has an RRP of £11 in a £25 Mystery Gift Box.
Over the years we’ve received many requests for what we’d call ‘niche’/very specific items – one such memorable request was for a book about wars between 1600 and 1900. Whilst many may find this subject fascinating, it’s a bit too deep for the vast majority of people to receive in one of our mystery gift boxes!

Our boxes are targeted toward ‘adults’. We use inverted commas here, because – as my Grandad says – ‘Growing old is compulsory, but growing up is entirely optional’! We believe we have a great balance between quirky, fun items, with a splash of more sophisticated gifts, leading to an all-round great gift!
As such, our Mystery Gift Boxes really can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone! If you are looking to tailor your box a little bit more toward the recipient, you might consider ordering a custom box here.
You can leave us a note in the checkout if you want to provide more information about the recipient, but we’d advise if you don’t think the recipient will like any of the product categories we have listed, a mystery gift box might not be the right gift for the recipient!
Are your Mystery Gift Boxes suitable for Kids?
Generally, most of the boxes you can see on our website are for ‘adults’. However, we have a huge selection of fantastic gifts that will be enjoyed by children (from Age 8 and upwards!)

How will the box be presented?
Our Mystery Gift Boxes are strong and sturdy mailing boxes. They ensure that your gifts arrive in one piece, and survive the journey through Royal Mail and our couriers.
Despite being ‘no-frills’ mailing boxes, we love them, and think they look really smart! We protect the boxes with strong mailing bags, meaning that they are water-proof, re-inforced, and discrete.
