Royal Mail FAQs

I’ve received a dispatch notification from TheMysteryGiftBox.com but no separate tracking information from Royal Mail?

This simply means Royal Mail haven’t scanned the box on the first stage of its journey, I.e when they’ve collected from us and taken the boxes to the depot for sorting. It’s actually quite common for the box to miss it’s first scan, but it’s quite frustrating!

I’ve got the tracking information from Royal Mail but it hasn’t updated?

If the tracking is showing only as ‘Dispatched to Royal Mail’ this is the same problem as above – I.e the box hasn’t been scanned on its first stage of the journey. The only thing the tracking will currently show in this situation is the postal service used for dispatch (for example Tracked 48 or Tracked 24) and this is your guarantee that your order has been processed, a postage label has been generated, and the box has been dispatched and is in the Royal Mail system.

I’ve ordered multiple boxes but haven’t received them all?

As each box makes its way through the Royal Mail system on its own, it’s perfectly normal for the boxes to arrive at different times. At Christmas, Royal Mail collect from us twice a day so it’s likely your order could have been split up between different Royal Mail sacks and then been sent off on different vans. They might even go to different depots or sorting offices. Our local sorting office is the South Midlands Mailing Centre, and all things going smoothly, this will be the first update you see when your box is scanned.

HOWEVER, the above being said, we are only human and we can make mistakes so if you’re waiting more than 5 working days on a delayed box, please email us at Help@TheMysteryGiftBox.com and we’ll look into it for you and reply the same or next working day, hopefully not with our tail between our legs 😩

The tracking is showing my box is at a place called Atherstone?

This means Royal Mail have misdirected your box and sent it to their central sorting office. It’s quite common for this to happen and Royal Mail are usually very good at getting it back on its way.

I paid £4.80 for Tracked 24 and it hasn’t arrived within Royal Mail’s 1-2 working days guideline?

We’re extremely sorry if this is the case, but please note we cannot be held responsible for delays with deliveries. We always dispatch according to our stated dispatch times on the website. We give the option of the ‘paid for’ expedited service as we know not everyone is super organised and everyone occasionally leaves things until the last minute, but as soon as the box leaves us we’re also at the mercy of Royal Mail delivery times. We continue to use Royal Mail as they are undoubtably the best courier service for small businesses but we can assure you we feel every bit of frustration you feel when delays with deliveries occur.
